Frequently Asked Questions

Red light therapy has been studied extensively and is proven to be effective by thousands of peer-reviewed medical studies and clinical trials. The studies have shown extremely positive results, and an almost total lack of side effects or health risks associated with it. We encourage our customers to do a search on PubMed for peer-reviewed medical studies and clinical trials regarding red and near infrared light therapy.

We do recommend wearing eye protection when treating your face, although it may not be necessary. Our devices come with included eye protection goggles.

Red light therapy is a non-invasive treatment that delivers natural wavelengths of light to our bodies. When these specific, concentrated wavelengths of light are absorbed by photoreceptors known as cytochrome c-oxidase on our cells, they stimulate the mitochondria within the cells to create more energy which is used to power all necessary functions in our bodies. Best of all, red light therapy treatments are quick, convenient and can be done in the comfort of your home and are now more affordable than ever before. In the past, it was thought that red light therapy could only be achieved using high powered, expensive lasers. In recent years, studies have shown that LEDs are every bit as effective as those expensive, inaccessible lasers. As a result, the benefits of red light therapy are easier to experience now than ever before.
Both red and near infrared light are natural wavelengths of light which come from the sun and have been clinically proven to enhance cellular function. The main difference is that red light at 660nm only penetrates the body up to a depth of about 5-10mm and may contribute greatly to improved skin health and collagen production. Near infrared light at 850nm is invisible to the human eye and penetrates deeper into the body, between 50mm and 75mm, providing energetic and anti-inflammatory benefits. We recommend doing treatments with both switches turned on, as the combination is perfect and our irradiance measurements are based upon both wavelengths of light, not just one being turned on,
